This morning I decided to pull out the slow cooker again and let it do the work for me!  Read more to find out how to make tasty French Dip sandwiches with barely any prep time!

This recipe is easy as one, two, three!  I will suggest grabbing a two beef bullion cubes and I'll tell you more about that at the end of the recipe!

1(3-lb) fresh beef brisket (not corned beef)
1package (1 oz) onion recipe and dip soup mix (from 2-oz box
)1can (10 1/2 oz) condensed beef broth8mini baguettes or sandwich buns
  1. Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place beef in cooker. In small bowl, mix dry soup mix and broth; pour over beef.
  2. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  3. Skim fat from liquid in cooker. Remove beef from cooker; place on cutting board. Cut beef across grain into thin slices or shred beef.
  4. To serve, cut each baguette in half horizontally. Fill baguettes with beef; cut crosswise in half. Serve with broth for dipping. Beef mixture will hold on Low heat setting up to 2 hours; stir occasionally.

recipe from Betty Crocker
When I got home from work it was wonderful smelling this as soon as I walked in the house.  It was mouth watering and I couldn't wait to try it.  Upon further inspection (taste testing) of the Au Jus I decided the taste wasn't quit up to par.  It was a touch bland.  I pulled the beef out and let it rest while I added two beef bullion cubes and let that simmer for a bit.  It definitely added the flavor that I was missing.  All I needed then was a bun, horseradish, Swiss cheese and a bowl of Au Jus and I was ready for some tasty sandwich goodness!  Like I said this recipe is as easy as one, two, three!  Happy Treats!
