So if you're anything like me sometimes you don't want to make the whole 7 course meal. You just want a good fall back recipe for a Monday night after a full day of work. Here is the recipe I use when I want to relax and let the oven make dinner for me: Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter or margarine 2/3cup Original Bisquick® mix 1 1/2teaspoons paprika 1 1/4teaspoons salt 1/4teaspoon pepper 1cut-up whole chicken (3 to 3 1/2 pounds) 1.Heat oven to 425°F. Melt butter in rectangular baking dish, 13x9x2 inches, in oven. 2.Stir together Bisquick, paprika, salt and pepper; coat chicken. Place skin sides down in dish (dish and butter should be hot). 3.Bake 35 minutes; turn chicken. Bake about 15 minutes longer or until juice is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut. Recipe from bettycrocker.com When I start heating my oven I put my baking dish in to melt the butter while preheating. This may differ for other types of ovens and baking dishes. If you do try that I would keep on eye on it while preheating. I usually use either thighs or quarters and not a whole chicken so I typically have breading left over. I also like to spice up my breading with about 1 teaspoon of cayenne. It gives it just a little kick without making it a 5 alarm fire! Now all you need is a good veggie, a garden salad and a side of bread and your ready for your meal with about 20 minutes in prep time!! I love this meal, it is so simple and an easy Go-To. I would love to hear about your Go-To meal for a busy day! Leave me a comment or tell me about it on Facebook.
