So the people spoke and they wanted to see the Italian Bocconotti Cookies! I have never made a cookie like this before so I was super excited to try it out. They remind me of a muffin mixed with a cookie. So my sweet and I decided they could be called a mookin!
Garnish with Powdered sugar and........ Enjoy! Happy Treats! Cookies
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1 whole egg 2 egg yolks 1/4 teaspoon baking soda Grated peel of 1 lemon 1/2 cup cold butter Filling 1/4 cup cherry, grape or strawberry jam 1/4 cup ground almonds2oz semisweet baking chocolate, very finely chopped (I used strawberry jelly!) Garnish Powdered sugar

These sound so good! I love the filling inside, I can almost taste the strawberry and chocolate now, pinned!

I grew up in my family's pastry store in Amalfi. We never used powdered sugar, but we painted the boccanotte with egg whites, to give it a nice shine when baked. try it!
