Lemon Lime Detox Smoothie

On my journey to being a little healthier I decided it was necessary to add a lot more fruits and veggies (obviously that's what the pyramid tells you to do) to my diet.  So what better way to do that than with a smoothie!  

Now I have been skeptical about some smoothies because I just don't get how some veggies and fruits can be combined and they can actually taste good.  This one really got me because it has kale.  I had not actually had kale until I made this smoothie.  I decided to try a bit before I put it in, I found it to be very bitter, very, very bitter.  Somehow the combination of all these ingredients make this smoothie wonderful!  I used kale and not dandelion greens and instead of water I used ice so it would have a little crunch.

So this is what my fruit looked like when I came in the kitchen!

Put all your ingredients in the blender!

Then my sweet said this is what happened when the fruit found out where it was going!

Blend well and enjoy!
Ingredients:

1/2 medium lemon, peeled and deseeded
1/2 medium lime, peeled and deseeded
2 frozen ripe bananas
Juice from 1 large Orange
1-2 cups chopped dandelion greens or kale (optional)*
Water to desired consistency (I used about 1 cup)


Instructions: Add all  ingredients to you blender and blend on high for 30 seconds or until smooth.
