On my journey to being a little healthier I decided it was necessary to add a lot more fruits and veggies (obviously that's what the pyramid tells you to do) to my diet. So what better way to do that than with a smoothie! Now I have been skeptical about some smoothies because I just don't get how some veggies and fruits can be combined and they can actually taste good. This one really got me because it has kale. I had not actually had kale until I made this smoothie. I decided to try a bit before I put it in, I found it to be very bitter, very, very bitter. Somehow the combination of all these ingredients make this smoothie wonderful! I used kale and not dandelion greens and instead of water I used ice so it would have a little crunch. Ingredients:
1/2 medium lemon, peeled and deseeded 1/2 medium lime, peeled and deseeded 2 frozen ripe bananas Juice from 1 large Orange 1-2 cups chopped dandelion greens or kale (optional)* Water to desired consistency (I used about 1 cup) Instructions: Add all ingredients to you blender and blend on high for 30 seconds or until smooth. recipe from Young and Raw
