Of course my first Guest Blogger is my Mom! Take it away Mom!

Let's take Cassie's cornucopia one step further and make it into a beautiful centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table or buffet.

Picture
First we elevate the cornucopia, I used a clear, footed cake stand.  If you don't have a cake stand, check the dollar stores for an inexpensive one.You will get a lot of use out of it.  Your guests will have a pretty view from all sides if you find some figurines or candle holders and put them at the back of the arrangement.  I used some little pilgrims that I have but you could also use fruit, gourds or mini pumpkins.  Add candle holders of different heights, it is always more interesting.  I used a combination of glass and figural holders.  I love the white turkey ones, but you can use glass or brass as well.

Brass is really warm with the flowers and all of the colors of the season.  Fill in the base of the arrangement with a garlandof flowers or leaves in fall colors.  If you don't have a garland you can always go outdoors for some pretty autumn leaves, acorns or stems of berries.Light the candles (unscented so you don't interfere with the mouth watering smells of your dinner!), and be ready for your guests to be wowed by your creativity!

Thank you very much for sharing that beautiful centerpiece Mom!  Check back tomorrow to see if I can create a centerpiece for my kitchen table!
