So tonight I decided I wanted some mac n' cheese but, I wanted mac n' cheese to the next level! Read more to find out about the the gooey cheesey goodness! Let me start by saying that there are so many mac' n cheese recipes that it was so hard to choose! I went with this one because it was very straight forward and pretty basic. I wanted something fairly simple for my first mac' n cheese from scratch experience. Here is the recipe that I used: ingredients
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. In a large pot cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Return to pot. 2. Add milk, melted butter, pepper, and salt. Stir in cheeses. Transfer to a greased 2-quart casserole. 3. Bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Carefully stir mixture. Sprinkle with crushed crackers. Bake 5 minutes more or until crackers are browned and mixture is just heated through (dont overheat or mixture will curdle). Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Makes 8 to 10 side-dish servings. recipe from Better Homes and Gardens So this was absolutely delicious. All the different cheese melded perfectly together! There is something about the crackers that I wasn't thrilled with though. It added a lot of a butter taste, almost so much that it took away from the cheeses. Next time I think I will add corn flakes instead. I will still get that crunch that is needed but without all the buttery flavor. Let me know what you think! Is there a different mac n' cheese recipe that is too die for? I would love to hear about your favorite mac n' cheese recipe! Be sure to check out Tidy Mom for I'm Lovin' It!
